This is a great opportunity for the Bolts to contribute volunteer support to a good cause.
Free Bikes for Kids has grown over the last few years, led by an amazing guy, Ted Cochran. They take bike donations each fall and fix up the bikes using volunteer support so that they can be given away to families that might not be able to afford a bike otherwise. I visited their warehouse space in Downtown Columbia. There are around two thousand donated bikes there, ready to be cleaned and fixed up. We can help with this, including Bolts riders, coaches and parents.
Please bring face coverings and expect to wear them. The venue is indoors, but it is a large, open space and we will have the place mostly to ourselves. Bike mechanic skills are helpful but not necessary. There are lots of tasks that are not mechanical.
